Varietal: Liberica

Traditional farmers blend, Barako locally means strong man/stud of a Bull. Barako is the name given to the Liberica species, a big pointy bean, 3 times the size of an Arabica which means 3 times more caffeine. A rare species of coffee that accounts for less than 1% of all coffee production globally.
Lipa, Batangas a few hours north drive of the capital Manila is home to the famous Barako, it has taken us several years to find a consistent farmer who abides to specialty like standards. We hold exclusivity as we buy the whole crop every harvest, you will not find this quality of Liberica anywhere else.
When you grind Barako the first thing you notice is the aroma. A big presence of ripe banana and jack fruit. The first sip you get an explosion of dark chocolate with the slight bitterness of Cacao Nibs. Drink it black or enjoy with milk and muscovado sugar.
Recommend to brew using a French Press, Aeropress, Moka Pot of Espresso.
Coffee orders are roasted every Thursday/Friday and shipped the next Monday
